Blended Learning - Lead Worker
This course is for individuals seeking to perform lead abatement activities. In California, Title 17 regulations require you to become certified through California Department of Public Health (CDPH). This course is the first step in the certification process.
Description
This is a hybrid online/in-person course. CDPH requires that the exam and hands-on portion of the class must be done in person.
- Day 2 and 3 from 8am-5pm: In Person Class to get course materials complete hands-on training and course exam.
- Day 1 from 8am to 5pm: Virtual meeting through Zoom. Please make sure the device you sign into has audio and video capabilities for the virtual class time. You will receive an email confirmation with a course URL link to access the online training
Abatement is any set of measures designed to reduce or eliminate lead-based paint hazards. Permanent abatement work that must be conducted by a Certified Lead Worker under the supervision of a certified Lead Supervisor.

To apply for new CDPH certifications, you should send an online CDPH/CLPPB application with the following:
- Online Application

- Proof of Training, via the CDPH Course Completion and Photo (digital)
- Fee - $135.00
NOTES:
Your certification must be renewed annually.
Every other year you are required to attend a 7-hour continuing education for workers (refresher) class before you can renew your certification.
If it has been more than 1 year since you completed your CDPH-approved training, you must take 7 hours of CDPH-approved Continuing Education before applying for certification.
If it has been more than 3 years since you completed your CDPH-approved training, you must take the full course over again before applying for certification.
